Firstborn is currently looking for a Video Editor / Jr. Studio Producer for their New York office. We need a motivated individual who will join our high-energy team and build on their previous experience and skill sets as we carry the incredible momentum of 2009 into the new year.

We are looking for someone who can bring a combination of technical and creative editing experience to a variety of projects, from video for web to interactive video Flash pieces. This candidate must be inventive and resourceful; a detailed eye for editing and overall post-production is a must. In addition to the editorial skills, this candidate must also be able to serve as a Jr. Studio Producer that will work closely with the Studio Director on the production / project management side of the business. This role will include the coordination and production of a variety of video shoots (all sizes), creative video execution and creation of client pitch materials.

We are looking for someone who can multi-task, step in right away and not be afraid to take on different roles simultaneously. Someone who can roll up their sleeves and dive into editing and post-production, coordinate a small or large-scale video shoot from start to finish, all while simultaneously contributing larger creative ideas and forward thinking for current and prospective clients.

Key Duties:
 Editing and post-production on all types of video projects. This includes narrative editing, keying, compositing, tracking, titling and sound design.
 Working closely with the studio and creative teams to develop and execute projects and pitches
 Willingness to start as a production assistant on set, where you will work with the director, crew and client.
 Development of videos for client pitches and title screen design will also be part of the day to day.

Skills and Aptitudes:
 Great eye for editing, design, typography, motion and composition
 Final Cut Studio and/or Adobe Premiere Pro with knowledge of efficient work flow and production process
 Adobe After Effects (familiar with multi-pass rendering) and/or Motion and Color
 Soundtrack and Adobe Soundbooth
 Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
 DVD Studio Pro and/or Adobe Encore
