Position Summary:
The Interactive Advertising Designer is a storyteller who uses After Effects, Flash, and video editing skills to grab the user's attention and deliver an impactful motion graphics experience. Strong fundamental design, layout, and typography skills are required, but great After Effects motion is the core skill that brings it all together. The technical specs that guide development of digital ad units require ad designers to have at least a basic familiarity with Flash and a willingness to build upon those skills and understand code as needed for the implementation of controls, interactivity, dynamic messaging, etc. In some cases high-concept advertising is built around simple design and clever interactivity (Flash). Ad designers have a passion for messaging, timing, and marketing strategy. Ad designers work closely with the Creative Director, creative teams, and ad producers to understand client goals, develop unique creative ideas, and execute award-winning high-impact creative and online campaigns.
Responsibilities:
-Participate in creative ideation, strategy and brainstorming
-Translate creative concepts into compelling designs and motion graphics pieces
-Stay current with latest trends and technology
-Continuing education and willingness to supplement knowledge of creative authoring tools
-Understand ad specs and adhere to Red standards of quality in design and technical development
-Gain familiarity with rich media ad serving platforms
-Understand and maintain clients' brand requirements, goals, and objectives while pushing creative boundaries
-Collaborate with and inspire other designers
-Work closely with producers to understand timing and deliverables and plan production
Requirements:
-3+ years of professional design motion & advertising experience, at least 1 year in an agency environment.
-Stellar portfolio demonstrating solid design, layout, and typography skills (portfolios with interactive work strongly preferred)
-Expert Photoshop and Illustrator abilities
-After Effects ninja
-Flash / AS3 fluency
-Knowledge of 3D application(s) is a plus
-Appreciation for the importance of sound technical development and QA
-HTML, CSS, and Javascript familiarity is a plus
-Experience working with rich media ad serving platforms is a plus: Eyewonder, DoubleClick, DART, Atlas, Google Adwords
-Desire to learn, grow, and contribute in a creative, collaborative environment
